How the NT52B Sanitary Pressure Transmitter Works

The NT52B uses a capacitive pressure sensing principle.

When process pressure acts on the isolation diaphragm, the pressure is transmitted through the filling fluid to a highly sensitive sensing diaphragm.

The diaphragm displacement changes the capacitance between two capacitor plates. This capacitance variation is converted into an accurate electrical signal and finally output as:

• 4–20 mA analog signal
• HART digital communication signal

For gauge pressure models, atmospheric pressure acts as the reference.

For absolute pressure models, a sealed vacuum reference is maintained inside the sensor.

The sensing diaphragm displacement is extremely small (maximum 0.1 mm), ensuring exceptional sensitivity, excellent repeatability, and long-term stability.
